Style In Cincy: Travel Diaries

Happy almost weekend, y’all! Has this week flown by for anyone else? I feel like it was just Monday, and today we are prepping for the weekend. This week was SO busy, and tons of fun. Tuesday I made the four + a half hour trek up to Cincinnati, Ohio to meet up with my boss, for a marketing summit. Have you ever been to Cincy? I had never been before, and I was pleasantly surprised. The city is so old-fashioned, but totally revived. It is TOO cute, and I love the history in the architecture.

Over the course of the couple of days we were at the summit, we had speakers come from Google/Youtube, Pandora, Facebook, Tempur-pedic, and other companies we work with at Ashley. It was so educational, and really cool to hear directly from the people in charge of the platforms we use. I learned a lot over the course of just a couple of days, and it made me so thankful for my job, and my company. Seriously, y’all working for Ashley HomeStore is the best job. If you ever see a position open with Ashley, I highly recommend applying. It’s the best!

There is a media planning and buying company based in Cincy called, Empower, and they were kind enough to host us at their offices downtown for the week. The building they are based in was built in the 1870’s, and has been used as a bakery, a bell + clock parts factory (even made parts of the Liberty Bell here), a labor and delivery center, a horse stable, and now offices! They kept the original brick, and have upgraded the interior to create an amazing space with beautiful design elements. Like come on, these colors and textures are EVERYTHING! At the meetings, Empower hooked us up with snacks galore, a fully stocked fridge, coffee, fruit, and even brought in a local favorite, Graeter’s Ice Cream (Oprah’s favorite!) for our break.

As much as I love traveling, I always miss home when I am gone. I was especially missing Hayden since he had to stay home for his work. While I was sitting in a meeting, I couldn’t help but stare at my ring when I was thinking about Hayden, and it looked so sparkly, I felt reminded of our wedding day! Also, please don’t roast me for needing a nail fill, SO badly LOL! I try to make my nails last as long as possible because it’s is so expensive to get nails done, ugh! Who else can relate?

The second day of our meetings, I was feeling all of the fall vibes. I had my chocolate brown blazer, with a big ole mocha in-hand, the air was chilly and I could feel the rain coming. It was that first day where I could really feel fall approaching. Finally, right?! This outfit is one of my favorites I have worn recently. It was nice and business-y, but also comfortable for meetings, and the drive home.

I got back to Nashville last night, and it was so nice to be back with Hayden at home. We picked up Italian food for dinner, watched some Thursday Night Football, and I fell asleep on the couch. It was a successful mini-getaway! I am glad to be home… at least for the next few hours. Because tonight we leave for Atlanta, LOL! It never ends! But, that’s just the way I like it. Time spent with family, gaining independence, traveling with my love, and all the fall outfits.

I can’t wait to catch you guys up on our weekend in Atlanta, it’s going to be a fun one. We are celebrating my sister’s birthday, spending time with our niece and nephew we haven’t seen since July, and planning to watch some football with my brother-in-law! What are your weekend plans?
